As some of you might recall, Rockstar had announced the imminent reveal of the next Grand Theft Auto game today, December 5th. However, the plan hit a snag as the trailer unexpectedly leaked ahead of schedule.
Nonetheless, no complaints here—it looks stunning, particularly for console players…
Sharp-eyed fans might have observed at the trailer’s conclusion that the confirmed platforms for the game were the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, with, regrettably, no mention of a PC release.
To be fair, it was somewhat anticipated, considering Rockstar’s tendency to release the PC version of its games considerably later than the console versions. This pattern was evident with both GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, and it appears to be repeating with this new release as well.
While disappointing for exclusive PC gamers, it’s not catastrophic. Many PC players have expressed that if any game could persuade them to invest in a new-gen console, it would be GTA VI. However, for those hesitant about getting a console solely for the game, history suggests that a PC port might surface approximately a year after the game’s initial launch.
GTA VI is slated for a 2025 release, although an exact launch date remains undisclosed at this time.
