Are you frustrated by Facebook displaying posts from users you don’t follow more prominently than those from your friends? The platform is introducing a new Friends tab in its app to help you keep up with your loved ones’ activities more easily.
In a recent blog post, Meta unveiled that Facebook users in the U.S. and Canada can now access a dedicated feed filled exclusively with content from their friends via the Friends tab. This new feature is part of a broader effort to reintroduce classic Facebook elements throughout the year, reminiscent of the platform’s early days in the 2000s.
The Friends tab can be found in the navigation bar at the bottom of your Home feed. Here, you will encounter your friends’ posts, stories, and videos (including Reels). Additionally, it includes a section for recent birthdays, new friend requests, and a suggestion list of potential new connections.

If the Friends tab isn’t visible on your screen, you can adjust your tab bar to add it. Simply tap on your profile picture in your Home feed, then navigate to Settings & Privacy, proceed to Settings, and select Tab bar. From there, you can pin the Friends tab. An alternative method is by pressing down on the tab bar and selecting Customize your tab bar.
The Friends tab mirrors Meta’s introduction of a Following tab for Threads shortly after its 2023 launch, which allowed users to see only posts from those they follow. Similarly, X, formerly known as Twitter, has integrated a comparable feature for better feed organization. However, Facebook’s Friends tab aims to restore the platform to its original vision as a space for people to connect with friends and family.
