According to the media reports, Russian police have detaiNED the Co-Founders of Nginx, Igor Sysoev original developer of Nginx and co-founder Maxim Konovalov.

Russian police have raided Nginx’s Moscow offices, Nginx is the world’s second most popular web server software. A copyright complaint was filed by the Russain email provider and internet portal, Rambler.

Above 30% of the websites in the world are run on Nginx. Websites like Twitch and Netflix run on the Nginx servers.

Igor Sysoev created Nginx back in the 2000s and made it open source in 2004, in 2015, he founded Nginix which was later acquired by F5 Networks for $670 million.

Rambler accused Igor created the software when he was working as a system administrator for the company, this is also shared on twitter. Rambler is claiming the copyright of its application.
