You might also want to consider cloning your existing drive onto your new SSD before doing the installation. This way, your system will have your current OS and files transferred, and you can see if it boots correctly from the new drive.
Another option to look into is cloud recovery. HP sometimes provides a tool that includes all the necessary drivers for your system model. However, note that for systems over five years old, HP may have removed access to this feature, so it’s best to try and get a copy while you still can. You can create a recovery USB drive with a 32GB flash drive, which might take an hour or more to set up, but it can save you a lot of headaches later.
