How to Unlock Mega Raichu X & Y in Pokémon Legends Z-A (Under 65 Characters)

Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension is finally out, featuring Mega Raichu X and Y as the main characters of the new downloadable content. To unlock these two Mega Evolutions, you need to start the Mega Dimension DLC first. During your journey, you’ll explore a new area called Hyperspace Lumiose and face off against a few trainers along the way.

Note: This article includes some minor spoilers about the story of Mega Dimension.

In Mega Dimension, you’ll explore Hyperspace Lumiose, a dimension filled with new Pokémon and Mega Evolutions. This is made possible by Hoopa, who allows you to access different portals throughout the story. To get Mega Raichu X and Y, you should first find the portal labeled Chilan Meringue Donut, which is a 2-star area marked with the message: “Side Mission detected! Unidentified Mega Stone detected!” Stepping through this portal will take you to the right zone.

Where to Find Raichuite X & Y

To obtain Mega Raichu X and Y, go to the area where you see two trainers with Raichu. Talk to them to start Side Mission 139, called “The Daring Raichu Pair.” Then, challenge them to a battle, where they’ll show off different Mega Evolutions of Raichu.

After winning, you’ll earn 6,000 Poké Dollars and the Mega Stones—Raichunite X and Raichunite Y. Both stones work similarly to those for Mega Charizard X and Y, giving you the choice of which form to evolve your Raichu into, or even using both if you prefer.

To evolve your Raichu, give it one of these Mega Stones as an item, then let it evolve. The steps are:

Enter through the Chilan Meringue Donut portal
Start Side Mission 139
Battle the two trainers with Mega Raichu
Win and receive Raichunite X and Raichunite Y
Place the Mega Stones in your Raichu’s inventory to evolve it

How to Get a Raichu in Legends: Z-A

Getting a Raichu is simple. One easy way is to visit Wild Zone 3, catch a Pikachu, and then buy a Thunder Stone from the Stone Emporium near the Vernal Pokémon Center. There’s also a chance that an Alpha Raichu may appear in Wild Zone 20, but it takes luck and waiting. Keep in mind that you’ll need to level up the Raichu quite a bit to make it strong enough for battles at this point in the game. Once you have a Raichu, obtaining Mega Raichu X and Y in Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Mega Dimension becomes quite simple once you know where to go.
