If you’re having trouble copying text from a webpage, don’t worry—there’s an easy fix to make it work smoothly. Sometimes, websites have special features or scripts that prevent copying, but you can bypass these restrictions with a simple method.
Here’s what you can do:
-
Highlight the Text: Click at the beginning of the text you want to copy. Hold down your mouse button and drag to the end of the selection. Make sure the entire message or content is highlighted.
-
Copy the Text: Once the text is highlighted, press “Ctrl + C” on your keyboard (or “Cmd + C” if you’re using a Mac). This command copies the selected text to your clipboard.

Paste the Text: Now, open the document or app where you want to place the text. Click into the area, then press “Ctrl + V” (or “Cmd + V” on Mac) to paste.
If the website still doesn’t allow copying, try this workaround:
- Right-click the highlighted text and select “Copy” from the context menu.
- If right-click is disabled, you can try viewing the page source or using the browser’s developer tools to copy the text directly.
Another trick is to disable JavaScript in your browser temporarily, which often blocks copy functions. You can do this from your browser’s settings, then reload the page and attempt to copy again.
Remember, while copying content is usually fine for personal use or sharing, be sure to respect copyright rules and give credit when sharing someone else’s work.
