If you’re tired of that beeping sound the OfficeJet Pro 8720 makes whenever a print job is finished, you’re not alone. Many people search for a way to turn it off but come up empty-handed. Luckily, there’s a simple solution that can help you silence your printer’s final alert.

First, start by checking the printer’s control panel. You’ll want to find the “Setup” or “Settings” menu. From there, look for options related to “Printer Sounds,” “Notification Settings,” or “Audio.” Many HP printers have an option called “Beep” or “Sound” that you can toggle on or off. If you see this option, simply disable it.

If you don’t see a specific sound option in the menu, your next step is to access the printer’s embedded web server. To do this, connect your printer to your Wi-Fi network. Once connected, open a web browser on your computer and enter your printer’s IP address. This can usually be found on the printer’s control panel under “Network” or “Wireless Settings.”

In the web interface, look for a “Settings” or “Preferences” section. Some models have an option to disable sounds here. If you’re unable to find any option to turn off the sound in either the control panel or the web interface, a good workaround is to adjust the “Quiet Mode” or “Silent Mode,” if available. Turning this mode on often minimizes notifications and sounds.

Lastly, if none of these options work, consider updating your printer’s firmware. Sometimes, manufacturers release updates that allow more control over notifications and sounds. Visit HP’s official website, look for your printer model, and follow the instructions to update the firmware.

By following these steps, you should be able to silence that finishing print alert and enjoy a quieter workspace.
