If you’re struggling with figuring out how to add reactions to a GitHub discussion or comment, don’t worry—it’s easier than you might think. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide to help you react using different emojis and make your feedback more expressive.

First, locate the comment or discussion where you want to add a reaction. Once you’ve found it, look for the reactions section usually below the comment. You’ll see buttons with emojis like thumbs up 👍, thumbs down 👎, smiley 😄, or other emojis.

To react, click on the emoji that best represents your opinion or feeling about the comment. For example, if you agree with the statement, clicking the thumbs-up 👍 will add your reaction. If you want to express confusion, a thinking face 😕 might be appropriate, so click that emoji.

If you’ve already reacted and want to change or remove your reaction, simply click the same emoji again. When you click an emoji you’ve already reacted with, it will remove your reaction. Conversely, if you want to add a different reaction, click on the new emoji and it will update accordingly.

Sometimes, if the discussion has a lot of reactions, a little number will appear next to the emoji, showing how many people have reacted with that emoji. This helps you see which reactions are most common or popular in the discussion.

There are various emojis to choose from, like celebration 🎉, rocket 🚀, or heart ❤️, so feel free to select the ones that best express your feelings or agreement.

By following these simple steps, you can easily participate and contribute to the discussion with reactions, making collaboration more fun and engaging.
