Having a reliable horse significantly impacts your experience in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. At the beginning, Pebbles may seem unremarkable—slow, weak, and lacking stamina. You might feel tempted to purchase a superior horse, but that’s not necessary.
The reason is simple: Pebbles has the potential to become one of the best horses in the game. By unlocking a special perk known as Good Old Pebbles, you can greatly enhance his abilities. This will save you from spending a fortune in Groschen to acquire a better horse; by sticking with Pebbles, you’ll find he performs just as well if not better.
How To Unlock Good Old Pebbles Perk
The Good Old Pebbles perk is somewhat unique in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 as it’s a hidden perk that only becomes visible once you’ve attained it.
To unlock this perk, you need to spend a considerable amount of time riding Pebbles. In our experience, it became available around level 14 of the Horsemanship skill—roughly halfway through the storyline in the Kuttenberg region.
Once you’ve unlocked the Good Old Pebbles perk, you’ll receive a notification in the top right corner of your screen.
Many players believe that you need to ride Pebbles for approximately 30 to 40 kilometers to unlock the perk. You can track this distance by accessing your player screen and navigating to the Statistics section, where you can see how far you’ve traveled on horseback.
To activate the Good Old Pebbles perk as quickly as possible, prioritize riding Pebbles whenever you can. Avoid running or fast traveling; opt for horseback travel instead.
Pebbles’ Increased Stats
After unlocking the perk, you can view Pebbles’ upgraded stats by interacting with him. His new stats are as follows:
Category | Stat |
---|---|
Stamina | 216 |
Capacity | 358 |
Speed | 53 |
Courage | 12 |
Value | 5040 |
You can compare these stats against any other horse you encounter while exploring the different regions in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. After the upgrade, very few horses can match Pebbles in performance.
