“Resident Evil Requiem” doesn’t have as many puzzles as some earlier games, but it still requires players to think creatively and find hidden items to move forward.
One of the more subtle puzzles takes place in the Helipad House. Here, you’ll need to use an “Old Device” to continue your journey.
Warning: Spoilers ahead for Resident Evil Requiem.
A Wine Bottle Hides an Important Item in the House
It’s a Small Puzzle
During the story, Grace makes her way through a hospital called the Care Center, collecting three pieces of quartz along the way. Once she places all three at the main lobby door, she leaves the Care Center and heads to the next major area of the game.
But before moving on, you’ll need to help a helicopter pilot caught in the chaos. He asks you to enter a nearby house and retrieve a key from his boss. To do this, you’ll have to explore the small house carefully and find where the key is hidden. This can be tricky if you’re not paying close attention to your surroundings—for first-timers, this part is a good lesson in being observant.
When you go inside the house, turn right after entering then go left. Head into the large lounge filled with wine bottles and display cases. Look to the left side of the room and walk up to the dresser with bottles of wine on top. Interact with the bottle labeled “Sanguis Virginis” to start a mini-puzzle.
This puzzle remembers classic Resident Evil games: it’s based on inventory and is quite simple. Just align the label so you can read it, then open the bottle. Inside, you’ll find the Double Helix model, which you’ll use as a key for the Old Device. Rest assured, the game automatically stores the Double Helix for you, so there’s no need to mess with it further.

Get Ready for a Scene Change
With the Double Helix in your inventory, head to the center of the room and approach the Old Device—it’s a large, retro-looking radio. Face the door you entered through, then place the Double Helix inside.
Before doing this, make sure you’ve organized your inventory and are ready for what’s to come. Expect a big change as you transition into the next part of Resident Evil Requiem.
