Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero: Unlocking Vegeta’s Unique Endings

In Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, players can experience two distinct alternate endings for Vegeta that significantly alter his storyline. These engaging “what-if” scenarios diverge from the established narrative of this iconic character, challenging players to take on new paths in the Dragon Ball universe. However, only those who are particularly skilled in combat will be able to satisfy the criteria to access these hidden conclusions.

The game features eight characters, each with their own Sparking Episodes—secret endings that shift their established stories. Notably, one Sparking Episode allows Goku to survive his encounter with Raditz at the start of Dragon Ball Z. As for Vegeta, there are two unlockable endings set during the Android and Majin Buu Sagas of his narrative.

Unlocking Vegeta’s "Parental Bond" Ending

Act Fast and Without Hesitation

Vegeta’s first alternate ending is titled “Parental Bond,” occurring during the Android/Cell Saga. In the standard storyline, Vegeta faces an early defeat against Android 18. Players, however, can change his fate by defeating Android 19 earlier in the sequence.

To initiate this, you must progress through Vegeta’s story until you reach the "Wind-Up Doll" Episode Battle. At this stage, Vegeta can only transform into a Super Saiyan, which slightly limits his abilities. During this battle, it’s crucial to defeat Android 18 quickly to set the alternate course of the story.

You don’t need to fully deplete Android 18’s health; instead, you must reduce it enough to finish the battle within three minutes. This time constraint makes the fight challenging, so you should focus on delivering high-damage attacks to overpower her swiftly.

Once Android 18 is defeated, the scene shifts to the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, where you will face Super Trunks. Just as before, you need to defeat him quickly to trigger his transformation into a bulkier Super Saiyan form, altering Vegeta’s training perspective within the Chamber and leading to the alternate ending.

From then on, you will confront Perfect Cell in three battles, each escalating in difficulty. Utilizing Ability Items in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero can be beneficial if required. After overcoming Perfect Cell for the last time, a cutscene will reveal the “Parental Bond” ending between Vegeta and Trunks.

Unlocking Vegeta’s "Number One Spot" Ending

Resist the Allure of Power

Vegeta’s second secret ending, “Number One Spot,” can only be accessed by fulfilling a specific objective during the Majin Buu Saga. At the start of this chapter, you must defeat Trunks without receiving any damage during the “Preparing for the World Tournament” Episode Battle. This task can be tough, even against a younger Trunks.

A helpful strategy for defeating Kid Trunks without being hit is to knock him away and charge up to Sparking Mode, from where you can unleash your Ultimate attack or beam attacks to maintain distance.

If you succeed, a new option will emerge when you encounter Babidi during the “Wicked Heart” Episode. Opt to “Shake off brainwashing” to avoid transforming into Majin Vegeta, diverging from the established storyline and paving the way for the alternate episode.

Next, you need to defeat Dabura and Babidi in quick succession. While neither is the most formidable opponent in DB: Sparking! Zero, they do present unique challenges. Finally, to unlock the Sparking Episode, you must defeat Goku in your base form without transforming. Fortunately, Goku won’t transform either, making the battle a direct test of strength.

Ultimately, defeating Goku will unlock the last of Vegeta’s alternate endings, allowing players to see how differently his story could unfold in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero.
