Years after its original release, Pokémon Go continues to introduce fresh in-game events, changing the experience for players. This week marks the start of the Small Yet Strong Event, a limited-time occasion that highlights various small Pokémon.
This event will be open to all players for four days, from Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 10 AM local time to Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 8 PM local time. In addition to showcasing unique Pokémon, there will be new debuts and bonuses; keep reading for all the details.
Event Bonuses
During this event, you can take advantage of two bonuses available throughout all four days:
- Catching Pokémon will earn you double XP.
- There is an increased chance to encounter both XXS and XXL Pokémon in the wild.
Event Wild Encounter Pokémon
Several event-themed Pokémon will be appearing in the wild, all notably small. This includes Nymble, which will have the opportunity to be shiny for the first time in Pokémon Go.
Here’s the list of wild encounter Pokémon for this event:
- Nymble
- Paras
- Natu
- Joltik
- Tynamo
- Flabébé
- Burmy
You will see Flabébé with different colored flowers based on your playing region.
This means you’ll get red flowers in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, blue flowers in the Asia-Pacific region, yellow flowers in the Americas, and white and orange flowers across all regions.
Event Eggs
2 km Eggs gathered during the Small Yet Strong Event will hatch specific event-themed Pokémon, replacing the usual hatches for this egg type. Ensure you collect these limited-time Eggs, as you could get one of the following:
- Azurill
- Togepi
- Budew
- Chingling
- Espurr
- Dedenne
Event Raid Pokémon
Throughout this event, unique Pokémon will be available in both Five-Star and Mega Raids. Below is the list of event Raid Pokémon along with their respective tiers:

Event Research
Timed Research
During the event, you have the chance to complete free Timed Research that involves finishing various in-game tasks before the Small Yet Strong Event concludes. Completing these tasks will reward you with items like XP, Poké Balls, and event-themed Pokémon encounters.
Event Field Research Tasks
Make sure to visit different PokéStops to collect Event Field Research Tasks. Completing these tasks could reward you with encounters featuring either Nymble or Burmy.
Event Collection Challenge
A Collection Challenge will also be available during the Small Yet Strong Event. To complete this challenge, you’ll need to catch and evolve specific event-themed Pokémon, earning rewards like Stardust and an encounter with Nymble.
