Another game for the PlayStation 5 is receiving PSSR 2 support in its upcoming PS5 Pro version, adding a popular hit from last year to the list of supported titles.
What popular game is unexpectedly gaining PSSR 2 support on the PS5 Pro?
Embark Studios’ multiplayer hit from 2025, Arc Raiders, which quickly gained popularity and received award nominations, will now support PSSR 2 on the PlayStation 5 Pro.
This announcement was made as part of Arc Raiders’ latest update, titled Riven Tides, scheduled for release on April 28, 2026. The update will introduce a new map, an ARC turbine, altered map conditions, a player event, and several quality-of-life improvements. Concerning the PlayStation version, the update will also bring PSSR 2 support, promising “sharper visuals that make environments appear cleaner and more stable, with improved detail reconstruction” on the PS5 Pro.

The new PSSR 2 is significant for the PS5 Pro. Sony has indicated that this version of PSSR is a substantial departure from previous iterations, and it’s a feature they’ve been developing for some time. Resident Evil Requiem was the first title to utilize the new PSSR, maintaining both high frame rates and image quality.
Players can toggle the enhanced PSSR 2.0 on or off via the system’s settings, under the Screen and Video menu, in “Video Output.”
