Players of Cookie Run: Kingdom have numerous options to enhance their cookies’ strength. One of the quickest methods is to apply toppings and beascuits, which can fill in gaps in a cookie’s performance or further bolster their strengths. Leveling up characters using experience jellies serves as the primary method for increasing their power. However, a critical resource for cookie development is skill powder, necessary for upgrading a cookie’s main abilities, distinct from their overall level.
While cookies typically require just one or two topping sets for buffs, significant investment in skill powders is essential for full upgrades. Each cookie type needs different skill powders; for instance, a charge cookie like Burning Spice Cookie will utilize Charge Powder. There are three skill powder tiers: standard, refined, and pristine. To elevate a cookie to level 90, you will need 100 standard, 110 refined, and 1,510 pristine skill powders. So, how can you efficiently gather this valuable resource?
How to Earn Skill Powders in Cookie Run: Kingdom
The Most Reliable Method Is Bounties, but Choice Chests Are Great for Bulk Earnings
Completing the Labyrinth Tactician bounty is the most dependable way to gather skill powder. If you’re a returning player, you might believe that you can no longer select the specific type of powder, as the default choice is random. However, if you enter the bounty instead of immediately using a time-skip feature, there’s an icon with two arrows next to the rewards. Tap it to choose your desired type. When I’m not focused on a particular cookie, I prefer using this bounty to replenish any low powders.
You can check your stock of skill powders at the top of the bounties page.
You can also purchase random skill powder from the Kingdom Arena Medal Shop, Seaside Market, and Rainbow Shell Gallery. Choice chests in arena shops often allow you to select the specific powder you want. While these chests can be bought from the Arena tier shop, they’re typically limited and costly. It’s wise to keep some in your inventory, as this enables you to quickly upgrade new cookies without the need to guess what you’ll need in the future.
Once in a while, event shops may offer “Skill Powder Concentrates,” which can upgrade a cookie’s skill to a certain level. Make sure to grab these when available, as they are rare during regular play. Some World Exploration stages provide skill powder as a reward, but they’re not a reliable means for gathering large amounts. Choice chests can occasionally be found in event shops, but you should only purchase them out of necessity, as other items often take priority.
How to Use Skill Powders in CRK
Use It Sparingly
Be selective when using skill powders; apply them only to cookies you plan to use regularly. Unlike toppings and topping tarts, which can be swapped out, skill powder is consumed permanently. Skills are only effective in battle situations, so while it’s okay to enhance less powerful cookies for general exploration or early arena matches, your focus should ideally be on ancient, beast, and legendary cookies whenever possible.
To use skill powders, click on a cookie’s ability icon and choose the amount you wish to apply. You can use the auto feature to level up your cookie to the highest level possible based on your available resources. If you have a concentrate powder, use it first to ensure no resources are wasted. Always manage your skill powder carefully in Cookie Run: Kingdom.
