Early in your Windrose journey, you’ll start by making a basic campfire for cooking. As you progress, you’ll improve your skills and unlock the ability to prepare more advanced meals that help heal and boost your character.
When you gather ingredients, you or your crew can cook hearty meals or quick snacks to keep your energy up while exploring the islands. Here’s everything you need to know about cooking in Windrose.
How to Cook Food in Windrose
Initially, you can satisfy your hunger by foraging for simple foods. However, soon it becomes crucial to start farming and storing substantial meals. Many of these meals restore health, increase your maximum health, boost stamina, or enhance your stats.
Your character can have two active food buffs at a time. If you eat a new meal, it will replace the oldest active buff.
Tip: Before a fight, it’s smart to eat two different meals—one to restore health and another to boost combat stats.

The quality of the meal determines how long and how strong your buffs are. Level 1 meals last 15 minutes with +5 stats, level 2 meals last 30 minutes with +10 stats, and levels 3 and 4 provide an extra +20 to stats.
