The AMES 85 stands out as one of the more user-friendly assault rifles in Black Ops 6. While it may fall short in terms of sheer firepower, it compensates with impressive accuracy and a rapid fire rate. This weapon makes hitting targets from distances over 50 meters a breeze, especially if you equip some recoil-reducing attachments.

Although the AMES 85 might not win in direct face-offs against stronger assault rifles under perfect conditions, it is a fantastic choice for players who value precision over sheer time-to-kill (TTK). This guide outlines two effective builds for the AMES 85, allowing you to enhance its low TTK while maximizing its high accuracy, making it a great option for both Multiplayer and Zombies modes.

Multiplayer AMES 85 Build

The AMES 85’s base TTK isn’t impressive, which is why we recommend starting with the Rapid Fire mod. This will give you an 11% boost in rounds per minute (RPM) at the cost of increased recoil. Thankfully, you can manage that recoil with the right attachments.

You should equip a Compensator and a Vertical Grip to stabilize the weapon. With this combination, you’ll be able to effectively take out enemies from over 30 meters, making it ideal for larger maps. If you prefer not to use the iron sights, opt for any optic, and add a Quickdraw Grip to significantly speed up your aim-down-sights time.

Loadout Recommendations

Assault rifles are quite versatile for both aggressive strategies and anchoring positions, so choosing the Strategist specialty is ideal. The Flak Jacket perk enhances your protection against explosives, while the Guardian triggers quick HP regeneration after you secure or defend an objective.
