A Rekkr is a melee combat unit in Norse: Oath of Blood, equipped with a single two-handed weapon like a large axe or club. They excel at close-range fighting, delivering powerful strikes. When used correctly, Rekkr units can be very effective in battle, thanks to their high damage output and unique abilities tailored to their role.
Rekkrs focus on dealing heavy damage, but they are not tanks— their health stats are average. The best abilities to select for a Rekkr depend on your playstyle and how you want them to perform on the battlefield.
Every Best Rekkr Abilities
The Rekkr can learn a variety of abilities as they level up, which enhance their effectiveness. These abilities fall into two main categories: Champion and Slayer. Each category offers different strengths, with new abilities unlocking as the unit advances.
As your fighters participate in battles and score hits and kills, they gain experience and can rank up after each mission. The more active they are in combat, the higher their chances of leveling up.
To adjust your unit’s tactics, visit the Hirdmen tab before battles to review or change abilities and equipment.
Champion abilities boost damage and strategic options, while Slayer abilities provide debuffs to enemies and some damage enhancements. It’s best to balance abilities from both columns to keep your Rekkr effective.

| Hel’s Kiss | Slayer | Legend | Kills from Hew count as Executions, restoring all Action Points. |
| Ragnarok | Champion | Einherjar | Deals 10 damage to all targets within a 2-tile radius, making it a powerful attack when near enemies. |
How to Use a Rekkr
The Rekkr’s main skill, Hew, causes damage between 4 and 6 across three tiles, making it very effective against groups of enemies lined up in front. However, be cautious of your positioning, as the attack can also harm your own units if they stand in the blast zone.
It’s best to deploy a Rekkr at the front of your formation at the start of a battle. Their close-range damage potential makes them ideal for area combat, requiring them to stay close to enemy units for maximum effect.
