Resident Evil Requiem is the latest game in the famous horror series. You play as Grace Ashcroft, a newcomer, and also get to control Leon Kennedy, a series veteran. Your main task is to investigate a string of strange murders.
Most of the game is played as Grace, but there’s a longer section where you take control of Leon in Raccoon City. One important feature is that you earn credits by defeating enemies, which you can use to buy attachments, weapons, and consumables to help fight off the undead across the city. Here are some recommended purchases, how to earn credits, and the must-have weapon.
### How to Get Credits
Your main way to earn credits is by killing enemies. Every enemy you defeat rewards you with credits, which you can spend at the Supply Box. Because of this, it’s a good idea not to ignore zombies you come across; defeating them can give you the resources you need for better gear.
Some enemies also drop Modules, items stored in your inventory that you can turn in for credits based on their rarity. Modules range from Common to Legendary, with the latter only dropping from mini-boss enemies, so don’t expect to see them often. You can convert Modules into credits by visiting any Supply Box, which automatically adds their value to your total.
You can also sell unwanted items at the Supply Box. For example, selling some inferior weapons like the MSBG 500 shotgun can be helpful, but it’s best not to sell ammo or consumables since you’ll need them, and your inventory is usually manageable.
### What Weapons to Buy
The first weapon you should purchase is the 990-TAC shotgun. It’s an upgraded version of the shotgun found in the care clinic, with a capacity of eight rounds, excellent power, and good accuracy. It’s especially useful against tougher infected enemies, such as Blisterheads.
Another important purchase is the Silencer 9 combat pistol. This handgun includes a silencer and can do more damage than your basic pistol. Using it allows you to quietly eliminate enemies that are separate from groups, which is very helpful, especially on higher difficulties.
### What Attachments to Buy and Improve
Weapon attachments are a core part of your gear. They provide various benefits, such as increased performance, larger magazines, better accuracy, or more damage. You can also upgrade attachments later by paying additional credits, which enhances their effectiveness.
Some top attachment options include:
– Ceramic Coated Barrel — 990-TAC
– Carbon Tube Extension — 990-TAC
– Add-On Suppressor — Silencer 9
– PVD Barrel — Classic 70
– Fortified Blade — Hatchet
– Improved Grip — Hatchet
– Weighted Grip — Requiem
Your first purchases should be the attachments for your Hatchet, as it’s your main melee weapon. From parrying attacks to stealth kills or slashing zombies, the Hatchet is versatile and essential.
Once you’ve upgraded your Hatchet, focus on improving either the 990-TAC or the PVD Barrel. This choice depends on your play style—if you prioritize precision and damage, the PVD Barrel is excellent for taking down mini-bosses and tougher foes.
If you have enough ammo, upgrading the Requiem revolver is also worthwhile, especially for boss fights thanks to its stopping power. I recommend upgrading the Weighted Grip first to reduce recoil and make follow-up shots easier on moving targets.
Finally, don’t forget to buy Body Armor and increase your inventory space. Armor provides vital protection from bullets and other attacks, while more inventory space allows you to carry more gear, making gameplay smoother. Both are valuable investments worth your credits.
