A major update for Arknights: Endfield brought a lot of new content, including the addition of Tangtang, the Supreme Chief of Qingbo Stockade. She is a friendly character who knows Chen Qianyu and is eager to help her people. Tangtang mainly functions as a support unit with strong Cryo abilities, but she also has decent damage-dealing skills for her role. She’s definitely worth pulling for, especially if you use teams that benefit from Solidification reactions that enhance Cryo.
Best Weapons and Gear for Tangtang
If you’ve already reached Wuling in Arknights: Endfield, you’re probably excited about the Qingbo Stockade added in the first major update for version 1.1 in March 2026. Tangtang is a six-star operator debuting on banners during this update and is known for her lively personality. She’s a powerful Cryo caster that uses handcannons, with her ranged attacks working well for creating whirlpools and waterspouts on the battlefield to boost her Cryo application. Her high agility combined with her secondary strength makes her effective at inflicting Cryo and supporting Solidification teams. She fits perfectly into teams needing elemental support and can operate well alone.
Top Weapons for Tangtang
- Brigand’s Calling: Her signature six-star handcannon, offered during her debut banner. It boosts Cryo damage significantly and provides attack and agility increases after Cryo is applied to enemies.
- Home Longing: Available if you’re in the Originium Supply tier of the Protocol Pass, this weapon boosts her agility, Cryo damage, and attack, providing additional benefits after using combat skills.
- Wedge: Enhances Arts damage and critical rate, especially when using her battle skill Ima Waveridaah!
- Opus: The Living: A five-star handcannon that increases attack and agility for 20 seconds after applying Arts reactions, synergizing well with her Cryo capabilities.
Best Gear Sets for Tangtang
- Bonekrusha: A three-piece bonus increases damage to her next Battle Skill by 30%. Focus on Bonekrusha Heavy Armor, Wristband, and Mask.
- Aburrey’s Legacy: Adds a 15% attack boost for 15 seconds after using any skill. Equip Aburrey Heavy Armor and UV Lamps for optimal effect.
Since much of her best gear comes from blueprints found around Wuling, high-level gear tends to work best for her. You can mix and match gear sets as you craft better equipment, just keep in mind the set bonuses. Use the Valley IV and Wuling gear until you unlock her full set, experimenting to find what fits your team best.
Team Composition and Abilities
Tangtang performs best when paired with other Cryo DPS units to maximize Solidification output. Operators like Last Rite or Yvonne work well in this role, offering interchangeable options. Including Perlica provides electrification, helping trigger Solidification. Xaihi is almost mandatory since her buffs significantly amplify Cryo damage for the team. Without a six-star Cryo operator like Yvonne or Last Rite, she’s often better used as a main damage dealer rather than a support.
An alternative team setup includes other four-star or free operators from the earlier game versions, with Ardelia included for healing. In this setup, Tangtang acts as the main DPS, focusing on damage rather than support.
Abilities Overview and Upgrade Path
Tangtang can deal Cryo damage in several ways:
- Her basic attack, I’ll Blow Your Mind!, can hit enemies up to five times with Cryo damage.
- Her battle skill, Ima Waveridaah! fires Cryo damage and creates a waterspout that deals damage over time, replenishes SP, and applies an Arts susceptibility debuff.
- Her combo skill, River, To Me!, hits a line of Cryo damage and leaves behind a whirlpool for AoE Cryo effects.
- Her ultimate, Da Chief Sees You!, immobilizes enemies, afflicts Cryo DoT, and summons a wave for high Cryo damage.
Prioritize upgrading her battle skill to enhance her continuous support capabilities. Next, focus on her ultimate and combo skills to maximize her damage output and control effects. Basic attacks can be upgraded last but still play a role in her overall performance.
