Everything Is Crab has several specific build options, mainly Focused on Physical and Ability attack types. Usually, Ability builds involve poison and ranged attacks using abilities like Spit, Leech, and Beak, while Physical builds center around increasing health and dealing melee damage with moves like Body Slam.
Both types of builds work well, and this guide will cover some key strategies for each, including the best evolutions and abilities to maximize damage and stay alive in tougher stages.
Choosing to rely on just one build type isn’t usually effective in Everything Is Crab, especially at higher difficulty levels. Success depends on adapting to what options are available rather than forcing a single approach.
Physical Builds
Starting with Physical builds makes sense since it’s the most common way to play. Even on harder levels, boosting your Physical damage and defense with evolutions such as Muscular Tissue, Plated, and Jaws helps you create a creature that hits hard and stays resilient.
Best Physical Evolutions
When selecting attacks, I prefer to get Jaws or Body Slam first. Later, I might switch to arm evolutions like Pincers if luck isn’t on my side. Body Slam’s damage depends on how much HP you have, so if you get it early, focus on increasing your health with evolutions like Chonky.
I usually choose Alpha as my first evolution after defeating a boss if I get lucky; it’s excellent for physical strength and also boosts max health, social affinity (which is useful for social builds), and physical damage.
Alternatively, a good strategy is to go for Ruminate and pick prey affinity evolutions that help you level up faster. To ease survival, I often upgrade to Plating, then into Scales to unlock the Basking evolution, which grants bonus level gains while moving in the sun in desert areas. Since enemy creatures take damage from sunlight, this makes it easier to survive. For hybrid builds focused on physical and social traits, Exoskeleton is also a good choice.
Ability Builds
The ability-focused approach involves prioritizing cortex for extra ability points, combined with Saliva and Spit for poison damage, and Beak for close-range ability attacks.
Ability builds often complement social builds nicely, as evolutions like Tail and Tail Wag provide additional abilities, including charms that can attract nearby creatures to join your team.
Best Ability Evolutions
My favorite ability evolutions are Cortex and Dextrous. Cortex gives a flat boost to abilities, while Dextrous also reduces ability cooldowns. Pairing these with abilities like Spit, which can be infused with poison, lets you become a sort of poison-spitting machine — like firing a rapid stream of toxins.
Since ability builds tend to be a bit weaker in terms of health and defense, I prefer evolutions that increase dodge chances, such as Agile, which improves dodging while reducing attack penalties to allow more mobility. Ruminate is also valuable here because it scales with prey affinity, and both ability and physical builds can use Ruminate to level up more efficiently.
