Stealthily Search the Right Biome
When you come across Smokie’s normal form in the wild, be aware that it will attempt to escape during encounters. This creature is not one to stick around for a fight, so tracking it covertly while exploring Feybreak Island is crucial. To find regular Smokies, head to the northeastern biome at the top of the Feybreak map and scout the red areas of that region.
Contrarily, the Alpha Field Boss version of Smokie will not flee when you engage it. Instead, it will attack with fire, posing a serious risk to your character if you’re not cautious.
As you explore the Smokie spawn areas, you should be able to locate Alpha Pal Smokie at the following coordinates:

You’ll recognize Alpha Smokie by its distinctive black flames, but be cautious as you approach it. This boss is located within the Sealed Realm of the Little Hero, which is accessible only after collecting Bounty Tokens from other defeated Alpha Pals. Before facing Alpha Smokie, you must defeat the following creatures:
- Alpha Warsect Terra
- Alpha Gildane
- Alpha Kitsun Noct
You won’t be restricted by specific timeframes when defeating the Field Alpha Bosses needed to unlock Alpha Smokie’s location. You can take them on at any time, day or night.
These opponents can be quite formidable, each being over Level 50. Ensure your Pals are at least on par with the Field Alpha Bosses you’ll encounter in order to reach Alpha Smokie. Prepare the right resources to ease these battles, including Legendary Spheres to help capture Alpha Smokie quickly.
Strategies to Defeat Alpha Boss Smokie
Know Smokie’s Weaknesses
Smokie is a Dark-type Alpha Pal, making it effective against Neutral-types but vulnerable to Dragon-types. Having a strong Dragon-type Pal can significantly tip the battle in your favor, rendering Smokie’s advantages as a boss ineffective.
Consider using Jetragon from Palworld as a great Dragon-type counter against Alpha Smokie, especially if it’s a few levels higher than the Alpha Boss.
During the encounter, Alpha Boss Smokie spawns in the Sealed Realm of the Little Hero amidst several smaller Smokies that can quickly overwhelm you if not dealt with swiftly. Eliminate the regular Smokies first using your weapons, and then concentrate on the Alpha Smokie when it is alone.
Upon defeating Alpha Smokie, you can collect materials like:
- Bone – a common resource obtained from many Pals.
- Crude Oil – a rare item used to fuel powerful machines and weapons, typically harvested from oil reserves requiring complex structures to tap into.
Capturing Alpha Boss Smokie gives you a strong ally with Gathering 2 Work Suitability, useful for discovering rare items throughout Feybreak Island. After defeating Smokie in the Feybreak update, you’ll receive another Bounty Token to unlock additional Alpha Pal encounters on the DLC map.
