Within the Dreadnaught, there are three spots where you can call forth a secret boss known as Vorok, Sentinel Eternal. Defeating him grants you the Willbreaker Shard: Vorok, which is essential for completing the Rites of the Deep questline in Destiny 2: Heresy. Remember, you can only summon Vorok once during each Nether run, regardless of the area.
Before you embark on this quest, ensure you grab the Shattered Will: Vorok, Sentinel Eternal quest at the Shaping Slab located in The Last City. This guide will outline where to find Vorok, how to take him down, and the rewards that await you.
How To Locate And Defeat Vorok, Sentinel Eternal
You can summon Vorok at three different locations within the Dreadnaught: Mausoleum, Hall of Souls, and Trenchway. In all three areas, you’ll need to light three braziers to trigger Vorok’s appearance. However, finding the braziers might take some effort. Even though he is considered a mini-boss, Vorok doesn’t have a lot of health, making him easy to take down with almost any gear.
Vorok can be debuffed and is susceptible to additional Precision Damage, which simplifies the encounter. Most burst-DPS Supers like Chaos Reach, Thundercrash, Nova Bomb, Golden Gun, and Needlestorm can easily eliminate him in a single hit. His attack patterns are straightforward; beyond basic melee attacks, he can use Strand to pull you closer. However, this pull only inflicts minimal damage, even on Expert difficulty.
It’s advisable to draw him away from any nearby enemies.
Be sure to defeat Vorok before the area boss; otherwise, the boss’s defeat will cause Vorok to despawn.
Upon defeating him, a chest will appear nearby, containing Sigil Shards, Glimmer, and seasonal gear. You may also be rewarded with a Minor Boon.
Hall Of Souls
In the Hall of Souls, navigate to the central location where the final boss (Subjugator) appears. This spot also serves as the same area where the portal manifests in the Court of Blades or at the starting point of the King’s Fall raid. Move beneath the central platform and light the three braziers to summon Vorok, Sentinel Eternal.
Mausoleum
We recommend launching Nether multiple times until you arrive at the Mausoleum. From there, head straight forward until you spot a Hive capture-plate on a raised platform. Below it, you will find the three braziers ready to be lit to summon Vorok.
Trenchway
In the section where the Tormentor spawns, move to the far-left side (from your spawn point) to find three braziers. Two of these are elevated on a platform away from the main path. Light these braziers to summon Vorok, Sentinel Eternal.
In addition to defeating Vorok, Sentinel Eternal, you’ll also need to take down several Taken using Swords. Once all tasks are completed, head back to the Shaping Slab (Eris’ Apartment) in The Last City to acquire the Willbreaker Shard: Vorok, which is crucial for advancing the Rites of the Deep questline.
