In the second area of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you have the chance to join a tournament. However, you’ll first need to complete the quest called Ars Dimicatoria, which involves some engaging interactions.
Once you’ve finished that quest, you can access the Kuttenberg Tournament mission. You’ll face three different fighting disciplines, and if you come out on top, you’ll earn 200 Gorschen and a new weapon for each discipline. Here’s a clear guide to help you through the mission, complete with tips and crucial points to remember for each fight.
How to Start the Kuttenberg Tournament Quest
You can enter the tournament immediately after completing the Ars Dimicatoria quest, so find Menhard to get started. While there are three disciplines available, you only need to compete in one. Still, it’s wise to try your hand at all of them. To enter, you’ll pay a fee of 300 Groschen, but don’t worry—you stand to win back twice that amount along with some weapons.
Note: The Kuttenberg Tournament can be played multiple times. After your first tournament, just speak with Menhard again to sign up for another round.
Once you’ve chosen your disciplines, it’s best to wait at the guild until the tournament begins. This way, you won’t risk missing it. You can expect the cost to be around 100 Groschen.
Tournament Day
If you decide to fight in either the longsword or sword and shield disciplines, make sure to visit the armorer on the day of the tournament. You won’t use your own gear in these two disciplines; instead, you’ll borrow equipment from the armorer to participate.
Tip: Given your progress in the game, you shouldn’t have too much trouble winning your matches. Still, it’s a good idea to save your game before each fight in case things don’t go as planned.
The first two opponents you face won’t give you much trouble, as neither performed a single Master Strike against me. You can get by with basic combos, but if you’re confident, you can attempt to use Master Strikes to gain an advantage.
After you’ve completed the longsword or sword and shield disciplines, return the borrowed gear to the armorer. If you want to keep the gear, you can purchase it for 500 Groschen. If you’re competing in the free combat discipline, you can select any gear you prefer, making it the easiest discipline since you’ll use your best equipment.
After each victory, head over to the chests on the side of the arena and open one corresponding to the discipline you just won.
Rewards for Winning Each Discipline
- Sword and Shield: Shell hunting sword and 200 Groschen.
- Longsword: Horseman’s pick and 200 Groschen.
- Free Combat: Kuttenberg heater shield and 200 Groschen.
With this guide, you’re all set to tackle the Kuttenberg Tournament and reap the rewards! Good luck!
