Psycho Cut in Pokémon Legends Z-A is a move you’ll need to complete Side Mission 87, “Becoming a Peerless Furfrou Trimmer.” It’s also a solid attack on its own. Though it’s most often linked with Absol, a popular Pokémon, this has changed in Pokémon Legends Z-A. We’ll explain how to get the move and how to teach it to your Pokémon.
How to learn the Psycho Cut move in Pokémon Legends Z-A
If you want a Pokémon that can use Psycho Cut, note that there’s no Psycho CutTM in the game. Instead, some Pokémon can learn it naturally when they reach certain levels:
- Kadabra — level 20
- Alakazam — level 20
- Honedge — level 22
- Doublade — level 22
- Aegislash (Shield Form) — level 22
- Gallade — level 42
- Inkay — level 33
- Malamar — level 33
- Metang — level 34
- Metagross — level 34
Most of these Pokémon, like Inkay and Malamar, won’t be available until later in the game. But don’t worry — the side quest that requires Psycho Cut can wait until you’re further into the story. If you want to get it early, you can find an Abra on the rooftops in Wild Zone 1, then level it up until it evolves into Kadabra.
Can Absol learn Psycho Cut in Pokémon Legends Z-A?
No, Absol cannot learn Psycho Cut in Pokémon Legends Z-A at all. In previous games, Absol could learn this move, but that’s not the case here. After catching an Absol and leveling it up myself, I can confirm the move doesn’t appear on its list at any point. Sorry about that.
