How to Complete the Quest
You have two options to complete this quest: you can either steal the Hermit’s diary to discover the sword’s location or earn his trust by helping him. This guide will provide a comprehensive walkthrough for both methods.
Quest Start
To initiate the Hermit quest, you need to finish “The Jaunt” mission. Return to Radovan in Tachov and ask for more work; he’ll mention his desire to forge a special sword for the wedding. Agree to help him, and this will kick off the Hermit quest.
Learning About the Hermit
Before heading to Apollonia to meet the Hermit, gather necessary information. Visit the Tavern in Troskowitz and speak with Innkeeper Betty about the Hermit. Inquire about the apparition, and she’ll refer you to Stanislav, a witness you should investigate next.
Optional: Speak to Stanislav

Head west of Troskowitz to the marked map location, where you’ll come across an abandoned shrine near a large tree. Dig at the shrine to find the Crusader Cloak. Tip: Clear the area of wolves to avoid unnecessary battles while digging.

Travel northeast in Apollonia to find a hut facing southeast with a black horse tied up. Investigate to gather more insights.
Optional: Discover the Devil’s Truth
Once you’ve completed previous tasks, venture north of Apollonia. Begin at the butchered horse and follow the trail towards the cliff to find the Hermit’s grave.
Finding the Hermit
On the northwest side of Apollonia, follow the path up the cliff to an abandoned grave beneath a small tree and loot it for the sword.
Delivering the Sword to Radovan
Return to Tachov with the sword and inform Radovan. He’ll ask you to fix the broken blade for the wedding.
Shortcut Method to Complete the Quest
If you wish to finish the quest quickly, after accepting it, speak to Betty, then head to the Hermit’s camp at night. Wait for him to sleep and rob him of his diary, which reveals the location of the sword.
Resolving Quest Bugs
