How to Fix the Troll Under the Bridge Glitch in High On Life 2

As you explore the maps in High On Life 2, you’ll encounter various NPCs who will share dialogue, lore, and sometimes assign small tasks. Talking to every NPC is the best way to make sure you complete all available activities, including becoming a taxi service to unlock the Ball Gun.

Squanch Games has a playful sense of humor, and one of the side activities involves a troll that can sometimes freeze your game during interactions.

### Where to Find the Troll Under the Bridge Side Activity

Once you’ve unlocked the Circuit Arcadia map and can roam freely, head to the central Plaza fast travel point to start the Troll Under The Bridge side quest. This activity isn’t marked on your map, so you’ll need to find it by exploring.

Go west and slightly north from the main fast travel location, just west of the central tower. On the southwestern edge of the bridge, you’ll see a man asking for help. Interact with him to begin the mission. He’ll tell you he needs to find a troll but doesn’t want to look under the bridge himself, so he’s asking you to do it.

> Be aware: The next part of this quest is known to be very glitchy and might cause your game to freeze. To prevent issues, save your game before proceeding—by switching areas or collecting an item. If your game freezes or the quest doesn’t advance after Gus’s dialogue, reload your last save.

Look behind the dumpster under the bridge where you found the man. There you’ll spot a green troll lurking nearby. If everything works properly, Gus will scream, and the man will show up shortly after. The screen will turn black briefly, and the man will thank you for assisting with his antics.

### How to Fix the Troll Under The Bridge Freezing Glitch

If your game freezes at this point and the man doesn’t arrive, reload your last checkpoint and try again. The best way to help the quest complete smoothly is to stand between the dumpster and the mattress to give NPCs enough space for their interaction. Sometimes, positioning yourself this way allows the quest to progress.

You may find yourself stuck in this glitch until an update fixes the issue. If that happens, using the map to move around can help you get out of the frozen position and continue your game. Keep in mind: exiting the interaction by this method may cause your character to lock again in a glitched state, requiring a reload to reset the quest. If you reach this point, consider your quest potentially bugged unless you reload the game.
