If you’ve been playing Grounded 2 for a while, you probably know that armor is essential because you take a lot of damage otherwise, especially when playing solo. Most of the armor pieces you craft require fighting tough enemies, which can be challenging.
Fortunately, the Weaver Armor is one of the easier sets to obtain. To make it, you need to gather Spine Nubs. These are dropped by certain enemies, and here’s how to find them.
Spine Nubs are yellow items that you get when you defeat a caterpillar and interact with its body. You’ll receive at least one Spine Nub for each caterpillar you defeat, with a good chance of getting more. However, these caterpillars aren’t very common, so it can take some time to find enough.
Caterpillars respawn about a day after you defeat them, so you can create a route to farm Spine Nubs regularly, making the process more efficient.
How to Find and Reach Caterpillars
Caterpillars are mostly found in two main areas:
- On top of large acorn tree branches, which have some small patches of green grass.
- On top of giant flowers with large leaves that you can’t cut down with an axe.
On your map, you’ll see these giant leaf flowers marked south of the boundary between Snackbar Front and Picnic Table. This is a good spot to hunt caterpillars. When you arrive, you can jump onto their leaves using some sort of elevation device or other tools lying around.
Some of these giant flowers have no natural elevation, so you’ll need to build stairs to reach the top. You can unlock the staircase by upgrading at the Ranger Station, which is a one-time process. Once you have the stairs built, you can climb them whenever you want to farm Spine Nubs again.
Tips for Finding Caterpillars
Caterpillars are harmless and won’t attack you, making them one of the easiest creatures to defeat once you find them.
Besides the Snackbar Front area, you can also spot some caterpillars on the left side of the entrance area, where the mini-map is mostly yellow.
