Each main bounty mission in High On Life 2 usually follows a similar pattern: gather information, reach your target, and decide how to defeat them. But the Bronkin Bucko bounty is different. It offers a unique quest where you hold the power to choose the outcome, including whether to kill or spare Bronkin Bucko.
Patience is important here. You have the option to save Bronkin’s life if you chat with him enough and listen to his thoughts about Rhea Pharma. We’ll guide you through both options—how to kill or save Bronkin Bucko in High On Life 2.
How to Start the Bronkin Bucko Bounty
Once you break out of prison, you’ll be given two bounty choices: Professor Burkel or the famous actor, Bronkin Bucko. Select Bronkin Bucko on the RV navigation system, then travel to Circuit Arcadia to locate him.
When you arrive in the city, your first task will be to find an informant on the west side of the map. Follow your map to a building with a golden door. When you reach the spot, you’ll bump into Bronkin Bucko himself, and you’ll need to make a tough decision:
- Kill Bronkin immediately or lure him into an alley to kill him safely.
- Alternatively, spare Bronkin Bucko to earn the Starstruck achievement or trophy.
How to Kill Bronkin Bucko
Killing Bronkin is the fastest way to complete the bounty. When Bronkin appears, Gene and Lizzie will advise you to take him somewhere quieter to kill him without more enemies bothering you. But if you prefer, it’s also possible to kill him right where he stands, dealing with security afterward.
Killing Bronkin is straightforward. As he shows up, dispatch security and eliminate him, either in the open or in a hidden spot. After you do so, his body will suddenly appear to come back to life—possessed by his conjoined twin, Peter, who takes control.
Peter thanks you and offers to help as a lawyer before rushing off. You and your companions then head back to the Quarters.
How to Spare Bronkin Bucko
If you’re feeling merciful or aiming to unlock achievements, you can choose to spare Bronkin by not shooting him. This takes patience because you’ll need to listen to Bronkin and your teammates’ dialogue options before you get the chance to let him go.
Walk with Bronkin and wait at a calm spot while the talking unfolds. Remember, this part is timed, so the key is to wait patiently. Once Bronkin asks if he knows you from somewhere, select the dialogue option that says, “We’re trying to take down Rhea Pharma.” This will cause him to panic, crying and begging for his life.
Soon after, Bronkin will ask if you’re going to kill him, presenting another choice. To save him, select “Would you be willing to help us?”, which will lock in the decision to let him live. He will thank you and dash off, ending the bounty mission.
By choosing to spare Bronkin, you’ll earn the Starstruck achievement or trophy. Afterwards, head to a nearby call station to summon Gene and return to the Quarters to debrief with your team.
Rewards for the Bronkin Bucko Bounty
Completing the bounty with either killing or sparing Bronkin will reward you accordingly. After the encounter, whether Bronkin is dead or alive, you’ll find him or his brother Peter near the wall on the upper floor where Gene and Lizzie usually hang out. There, he will have a brief dialogue before proceeding to the final mission.
If you spared Bronkin, his brother Peter will join your team. Both can be found on the upper floor of the Quarters near the elevator. You can talk to him to hear some last lines before moving on to the game’s ending.
Once you’ve finished the Professor Burkel bounty, gear up for the game’s final sequence and bounty mission.
