The Forza Horizon series is known for blending realistic racing features with fun, arcade-style gameplay. Thanks to its wide range of customization options, players can tailor their experience to suit their style of driving. As expected, Forza Horizon 6 continues this tradition by including all the features fans love, including the ability to adjust how vehicle damage is handled.
In Forza Horizon 6, you can choose from several damage settings that completely change how the game plays. If you prefer a more realistic challenge, you can set damage to its maximum, making collisions impact your car’s performance. Want to enjoy racing without worrying about damage? You can turn damage off altogether. There’s also an option to make cosmetic damages, like scratches and dents, without affecting your vehicle’s performance. Here’s a simple guide on how to change these settings.
How to turn off car damage in Forza Horizon 6
- Pause the game.
- Go to the Campaign tab.
- Select Settings.
- Click on Difficulty at the top of the screen.
- Scroll down to find the Damage & Tire Wear setting.
This is where you can choose how damage affects your car.
Damage options available:
- None: No cosmetic or functional damage. Your vehicle stays perfect no matter what happens.
- Cosmetic: Your car gets scratches and dents, but the way it drives remains the same.
- Simulation: Damage affects how your car performs. Even small bumps can cause drifting, acceleration problems, or stalls.
Remember, choosing the simulation mode makes the game more realistic and challenging. Minor collisions can impact handling and overall performance, making driving a lot harder.
Once you select your preferred damage setting, you can get back to exploring the open world of Forza Horizon 6. While there, it’s a good idea to adjust other settings too, like the difficulty of AI drivers. Making the game more challenging will give you better rewards and help you earn more credits, which you can use to buy new cars. If you want fancier vehicles, pushing your skills could be just what you need.
Forza Horizon 6 is available now on Xbox Series X|S and PC. A PlayStation 5 version is expected later in 2026.
