After finishing Kelpie’s Playground in Tides of Tomorrow, you gain access to Wrecklandia. This area is controlled by Obin, who isn’t exactly trustworthy, so don’t expect it to be a friendly place. Here, Mermaids are brought to be killed and sold as food. Since Eyla’s Mermaid friend, Kelpie, has been taken there, it’s a serious concern.
Your goal is to save Kelpie. However, because this game has two possible versions, there’s a different focus for each one. One version has you trying to rescue Kelpie, and the other has you figuring out what happened to her. This guide covers both paths.
How to Enter Wrecklandia
As you approach the gate, a guard blocks your way. To get inside, you must win a game of “Paper, Scissors, Stone” against him. The game works like Rock, Paper, Scissors, but you can see what the guard is about to play. Use your vision to guess his move and pick the opposite to win. Here’s what to do:
- If he chooses Rock—use Paper
- If he chooses Paper—use Scissors
- If he chooses Scissors—use Rock
Win the game to gain entry to Wrecklandia.
Find Obin or Eyla
Once inside, depending on your game scenario, you will meet either Obin or Eyla on the right side of the platform outside the Markets. You’ll talk to them as you enter the Fish Market. The conversation varies based on your path, but the core interaction is similar.
How to Get Inside the Slaughterhouse
After entering the Fish Market, you’ll be told to get into the Slaughterhouse. If you’re with Eyla, she will lead you to the door. If you’re with Obin, you can find the door yourself—it’s on the opposite wall from the entrance, but it will be locked. You need to find a key for it.
Finding the Key
The key is held by Ben, who is inside the Fish Market, on the wall opposite the Slaughterhouse door. You can spot him using your vision, as he will have spoken to the other Tidewalker. When you ask about the key, Ben will tell you that you need a password. If you’re with Obin, just ask him for it. If not, use your vision to hear the last password Obin gave to the previous Tidewalker.
Tell Ben the password to get the key. Once you have it, you can open the door and continue.
Sneaking Through the Slaughterhouse
Even if you work for Obin, sneaking through is necessary. Enter the Slaughterhouse and approach the green dumpster. If Eyla is with you, talk to her. If she’s missing, use your vision to see what she’s saying.
You need to drop a fish from the ceiling. To do this, head to the right, moving between two conveyor belts. There’s a guard watching, but his view is periodically blocked by passing boxes, which you can hide behind to sneak past. Use one of the boxes as cover or crouch between two to stay hidden.
Next, go to the ladder by crawling under the conveyor belt. Climb up to reach another conveyor belt. From there, jump onto the boxes and ride them until you see an opening on the left side of the catwalk. Jump over to it, walking across the unstable platform. Use your vision to follow the path the other Tidewalker took to avoid falling.
Once on the main catwalk at the top, cross the shaky platform by following the footsteps of the other Tidewalker, using your vision to guide you safely across.
Proceed to sabotage the machine with the yellow cable at the far end. Cutting the cable causes fish to drop, creating a diversion. After that, climb down and leave through the nearest door.
The Mereid Pen
The next room is the Mereid Pen. If working with Obin, your main focus is using your vision to see what happened to Eyla and the other Tidewalker. After inspecting, you’ll leave through a door in the other section of the pen to find Eyla being grabbed by a guard.
If you’re playing the other way, you’ll talk to Eyla and watch Kelpie get seized. Run into the other part of the room with Eyla, then go to the yellow button located on the far right. After some time, she will move to the closer button, and you can inspect your own.
Surrender or Free Kelpie
When you press the button, a guard will threaten Eyla, warning her that she will be thrown into the water if you don’t step back. Eyla wants you to ignore him and free Kelpie instead. You’re given two choices:
- Surrender: Kelpie is sacrificed, and Eyla stays safe. You both leave, but Kelpie remains underwater later in the story, and Eyla is upset.
- Free Kelpie: Kelpie escapes, but Eyla is pushed into the water. You jump in after her, saving her but worsening her Plastemia.
Afterward, you’ll have a brief chat with Eyla before heading back to your boat to finish the level.
Conversation with Obin
If you chose to work with Obin, there’s a final scene where he questions Eyla about Kelpie’s release. You can tell him what you know and then choose one of two options:
- She’s Guilty: You accuse Eyla of releasing Kelpie. Obin rewards you with some Ozen. Eyla is upset and thrown into the water, worsening her condition. You leave the area afterward.
- She’s Innocent: You defend Eyla. Obin pushes you into the water, then you have a brief discussion with Eyla before heading to your boat and departing.
This covers all the main steps of entering Wrecklandia, sneaking through the Slaughterhouse, managing Kelpie’s fate, and concluding the story based on your choices.
