In Act Three of Tides of Tomorrow, you revisit several locations, including the Main Outpost. The first time you came here, your task was to distribute Ozen to the residents.
This time, your goal is to find Mereid Eggs that could help create a cure for Plastemia. Your role is even more critical now. To do this, you need to reach Eyla’s apartment, use her submarine, and locate a Mereid nest. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you through that.
Go To The Elevator
When you arrive at the Main Outpost, take a moment to look around. There’s scrap to pick up and interactions to discover that you miss at the end of the level. When you’re ready to move on, head toward the elevator—it’s on the far left wall from the entrance.
At the elevator, you’ll see either an empty elevator or one that Kass is working on fixing.
Use The Elevator
What you do next depends on the scenario you’re in.
Scenario 1: Kass is fixing the elevator
In this case, it’s simpler. Before entering, climb the ladder to the left of the elevator and go through the grate. This leads to a small area with another ladder. Climb up, pull the lever to clear the steam, then go through the grate to find a box containing some Ozen. After gathering this, climb out of the elevator and pull the switch to ascend.
Scenario 2: Kass is not fixing the elevator
If Kass isn’t fixing it, take the ladder to the left of the elevator shaft. Climb through the grate at the top to reach a small area, then use the lever to clear the steam. Proceed through the grate to find a pile of boxes. Use these to create a makeshift staircase by stacking one box next to the container, another on top, and the last beside them. Climb the boxes and then enter the elevator. Pull the switch to go up to the next level.
Reach Eyla’s Apartment
Once you arrive at the apartment hallway, walk through the space until you see an old apartment door. The next steps depend on the scenario: Kass may be knocking on the door, or no one is there. Regardless, you’ll need to find a way inside.
Vault over the small wall in front of the door—there’s a small area you can jump into. After vaulting, go through the grate to sneak into Eyla’s apartment. Depending on the story progression, Eyla may be there, or she might not be. If she’s present, talk to her; if not, let Kass in and use your visions to see what happened to her. You can give Eyla some Ozen if you like.
Enter The Submarine
From Eyla’s apartment, if she’s with you, simply exit through the back door with her to reach her submarine. Enter it, and you’ll set off across the water.
If Kass is in charge, go outside the back door, use your visions to determine Eyla’s location, then follow Kass to another elevator. Ride it down; at the bottom, you’ll find Eyla and her submarine. After a brief chat, you can board the submarine.
Reach The Mereids’ Nest
In either case, the next step is underwater exploration. Dive in the submarine to search for a Mereid nest. Follow a Mereid or use your visions to track the last Tidewalker and find the nest.
Once you locate the nest, you may find a cluster of eggs or none at all. If eggs are present, you can suck them up. Doing this grants you Troublemaker points and influences the ecosystem for players in future games. If no eggs are there, Eyla will offer some for you to leave behind, or you can choose to abandon them.
Return to Dry Land
Whether you’ve collected eggs or left them, head back to dry land. Once ashore, you’ll have a conversation with Eyla before you are free to leave and complete the level.
