While playing Tides of Tomorrow, most of your gameplay will involve traveling to different islands as you progress through the story. Each visit to these islands costs you two bars of your health points (HP), so you’ll need to gather a lot of ozen to handle these expenses. Luckily, there are some locations you can visit without losing HP.
These special locations are called ocean events, and you’ll encounter them after nearly every story segment. They appear as places you can see through your telescope. Ocean events fall into three main types, and here’s what you should know about each.

### Boat Fight Events Guide
A significant portion of ocean events involves getting into a boat fight as soon as you arrive. After defeating the attacking ship, what happens next depends on the specific event. Here’s what you can do:
#### Boat Raid
In these events, you’ll be attacking a boat trying to escape—often smugglers or poachers. Once you damage their ship enough, you’ll have a few seconds to dock near them and enter their vessel. Inside, you need to quickly reach the cabin. During this time, a timer will count down before the ship sinks. You’ll want to interact with every item you find to gather scrap and possibly ozen in the area.
#### Omulus’ Country
After defeating one of the boats, you can board it to meet Omulus, who will say that the boat is his country. You can also find scrap lying around. After some dialogue, Omulus may ask if you want to join his country. Agreeing will reward you with a prize, which is often ozen. If you’re lucky, you’ll get some ozen; otherwise, it might be scrap. You’ll then choose a reward for the next player to follow you, with ozen usually being the best choice.
#### Raymus’ Country
This event is tied to Omulus’ event and involves another part of the boat that Raymus considers her country. You can defeat this boat to board it and collect scrap. Interestingly, you can hide that you joined Omulus’ country from Raymus, allowing you to join hers as well. The reward you receive will be what the previous Tidewalker selected for you, often ozen if you’re lucky. If you join both Omulus’ and Raymus’ countries, there’s an Easter egg near the harbor on the right side where you can see them being friendly again.

### Merchant Event Guide
During ocean events, you’ll sometimes come across a merchant. This is pretty straightforward. The merchant offers ozen at a set price based on your current progress. Your luck with this encounter depends on the Tidewalker you choose to follow.
If you manage to find the hidden entrance on the right side of the merchant’s boat, you can steal some scrap and ozen from behind him. Doing this will cause the merchant to lock the door, preventing future Tidewalkers from accessing his stash.

### Miscellaneous Events Guide
Aside from the main types, many other ocean events fall into a miscellaneous category. Here’s what to do in those situations:
#### Storm Escape
Early in the story, you’ll face a stormy waters event where you follow a boat through treacherous seas. The boat will make many turns, and later, you’ll have to avoid mines in the water. Successfully completing this challenge can earn you up to 50 scrap and some ozen.
#### Race
Sometimes, you’ll encounter racing events that send you back to Pleasureland. You can bet on your performance, and if you’re confident, you might double your scrap earnings.
#### The Hermit
This special event takes you to The Hermit’s boat, where you’ll have a conversation at the top. He’ll ask for all your ozen for a secret, but you can choose to give it. He’ll refuse and instead give you a key to a chest in his backyard, which contains ozen.
#### Group of White Islands
At times, you’ll see small islands during ocean events. Make sure to dock at each one and explore. For example, the X-shaped island has Mereid Eggs hidden behind the basin, while the other islands are rich with scrap.
