Forza Horizon 6 offers many customization options that let you decide how realistic you want the driving experience to be. One of the main ways to change the gameplay is through the car damage setting. You can turn car damage on for a tougher challenge where each crash could cause serious problems. Or, you can turn it off for a more relaxed drive—like cruising through Japan without worry. If damage is on, just keep in mind that you might need to repair your car from time to time.
Repairing your vehicle in Forza Horizon 6 is simple. There are several quick and easy ways to do it. Just remember, repairing resets your car’s condition and appearance back to new, undoing any customizations you’ve made. If you’re okay with that, here’s how to repair your car:
How to Repair Cars in Forza Horizon 6
First, the important thing to know is that you can only repair your car when you’re in free-roam mode. If you’re in a race, you won’t be able to fix damage directly. However, you can use the Rewind feature to go back in time just before a crash happened—though there’s a limit on how far you can rewind, so do this as soon as possible if your car gets severely damaged.
When you’re freely driving around, here are four main ways to repair your car:
-
Fast Travel – Opening the map and choosing a previously visited road will instantly repair your car. Just select a location you’ve driven before, and a quick repair will happen as you fast travel there.
-
Start a Race – Beginning a race automatically repairs your vehicle. It’s a fair way to fix your car while keeping the game fun.
-
Go Home – Returning to your house from the game menu will give you a fully repaired, clean-looking car.
-
Use Photo Mode – You can also fix cosmetic damage in Photo Mode. To do this, press up on the D-Pad (or P on the keyboard) to enter Photo Mode, then press LB (or R on the keyboard) to reset all visual damage.
Once your car looks good again, you might want to take some photos. Taking pictures in the game can earn you points toward your overall progress. Be sure to capture your car and other vehicles during your adventures!
