A remastered version of the beloved PlayStation 4 role-playing game is now available, and early reviews are highlighting its positive reception.
The updated port of Tales of Berseria, a 2016 RPG developed by Bandai Namco, is generating buzz. Currently, OpenCritic has awarded it an average score of 81, with 82% of critics recommending the game. Many reviews commend the enhanced visuals and improved gameplay experience, noting the developer’s attention to detail in key areas.
Tyler Treese from PlayStation Lifestyle describes it as “the ultimate version of one of Bandai Namco’s top role-playing games.” Similarly, Erren Van Duine from TechRaptor praises the game, calling it “pretty solid,” though he notes that some minor texture and lighting issues still remain.
CGMagazine gives a favorable review, pointing out that the remaster “still reaches heights that few other RPGs can achieve,” while also adding some new features. RPG Fan, while appreciating the remaster, questions the decision to port a game already available on modern platforms, labeling it as “baffling.”
The game’s description highlights new enhancements, stating, “Tales of Berseria returns with improved gameplay and quality-of-life upgrades! Follow Velvet’s quest for revenge alongside her quirky companions as they explore the archipelago of Midgand.”
