The Realmgate serves a crucial role in the endgame of Path of Exile 2, offering players the chance to challenge some of the most formidable bosses in the game. These bosses represent the ultimate test for endgame builds, presenting a considerable challenge. Before you can harness the power of the Realmgate, however, it’s essential to recognize its appearance and how it operates.
In Path of Exile 2, map nodes are typically accessible through Waystones once you reach the endgame stage. However, the Realmgate operates differently; it has specific prerequisites that must be met before you can engage with the pinnacle bosses. Therefore, there’s no need to farm Waystones just to activate the Realmgate—focus instead on understanding the requirements needed to commence battles.
Locating the Realmgate
Identify Starting Points for Endgame Content
After completing the main storyline, you will find the Realmgate on the endgame Atlas map. It usually appears near one of the starting points on this new map, which features several nodes leading to well-known areas. Commonly, the Realmgate is located close to Zigurrat Refuge, the southern area where you kick off your endgame journey.
To easily spot the Realmgate, take advantage of the options available in the endgame Atlas map. You can click the home icon in the upper left corner of your display when viewing the endgame map to reset your view. This action will reposition the Atlas image to reflect its initial mapping, making the Realmgate more noticeable.
Access to the Atlas of Worlds containing the Realmgate is granted only after you finish all three story Acts on Cruel difficulty. The Map Device enabling you to view the Atlas is awarded once one of your characters achieves this milestone.
When you spot the Realmgate among the various nodes on your map, make a mental note of its location. It is depicted as a small icon resembling an altar with a soft blue aura when you hover your cursor over it. Given the vast number of endgame nodes, it can be easy to overlook, particularly as you gather gear enhancements to tackle the challenges presented by the pinnacle bosses visible through the Realmgate.
How to Utilize the Realmgate
Fulfill Requirements to Confront Fearsome Bosses
Upon discovering the Realmgate, you can complete its requirements to confront one of the four exclusive Pinnacle Bosses found in Path of Exile 2‘s endgame. Each boss comes with its own set of conditions, which may include collecting a specific rare item or interacting with a particular NPC. Note that these bosses are distinct from The Arbiter, another endgame adversary that only appears during the Burning Monolith event.
