Exploring the Meowmere Sword in Palworld
The Meowmere is a formidable weapon in Palworld, featuring a unique crossover element from the popular game Terraria. Due to its distinct characteristics and rarity, this weapon has garnered significant interest among players. However, acquiring the Meowmere sword is no easy feat—it demands many hours of gameplay, extensive resource collection, and reaching specific experience levels. While there are methods to streamline the process, obtaining it in an established game requires dedication and attention.
The Meowmere sword was introduced during the Feybreak update as part of the Terraria x Palworld collaboration. This weapon distinguishes itself from standard arms by enabling players to fire kitten-shaped projectiles that leave a rainbow trail. These projectiles bounce off surfaces and travel forward until they collide with enemies, allowing players to engage foes from a distance rather than needing to be in close proximity.
Finding Predator Cores in Palworld
Which Pals Drop Predator Cores?
To craft the whimsical Meowmere weapon, players need Predator Cores—essential crafting components that drop exclusively from Predator Pals. These newly introduced aggressive creatures are identifiable by their red aura and a special boss-like health bar, indicating they’re more robust than typical Pals. Although it’s generally wise to steer clear of them, defeating Predator Pals is necessary to obtain a Predator Core.
Predator Pals spawn sporadically throughout the game, unlike traditional bosses that occupy fixed locations. Certain open areas have a higher chance of these encounters, so players should keep an eye out while exploring or flying around until they spot one.
A tip for finding these enemies: Predator Pals seem to appear more often near the Free Pal Alliance Tower, although be cautious as this area has higher level challenges.
Once you locate a Predator Pal, you’ll need to defeat it to acquire a Predator Core. Ensure your Pal team is strong and prepared to withstand the Predator Pal’s fierce attacks and considerable health. Using high-level Pals equipped with the right skills and weapons can increase your chances of success. After conquering a Predator Pal, collect the dropped Predator Core and store it back at your base.
How to Obtain the Meowmere
Crafting the Meowmere Sword
To craft the Meowmere sword in Palworld, you’ll need to complete several key steps. The initial requirement is to achieve Technology Level 30, which can be quite challenging. It took me roughly 20 hours of gameplay to reach this milestone, involving quest completion, enemy defeats, and exploration to gain experience and Technology Points. Upon reaching this level, you’ll find the Meowmere blueprint in the Ancient Technology Tree; however, unlocking it requires two rare Ancient Technology Points.
Tip: The most efficient way to level up quickly is by catching duplicate Pals, especially within the first ten catches, which yield bonus experience points.
After securing the blueprint, the next task is to gather the materials needed to craft the Meowmere. Here’s the breakdown of what you’ll require:
- 22x Ingots
- 22x Coal
- 22x Paldium Fragments
- 3x Predator Cores
Ingot materials are relatively easy to obtain through ore refining, while Paldium Fragments can be collected while mining or created using a Crusher. Coal is typically found more easily in the later stages of the game, especially in northern regions. The biggest challenge will be acquiring those three Predator Cores.
To efficiently gather materials for Meowmere, prioritize locating the Predator Cores first since they take the longest to acquire. By the time you reach Technology Level 30, it’s usually straightforward to collect the other necessary materials.
If it all seems too daunting, and you’re just curious about what the sword can do, there’s a simple workaround. You could start a new world with easier settings and craft the Meowmere with minimal effort. For those already invested in an ongoing world, however, earning this weapon will involve some determination.
Once you have all the required resources, you can craft Meowmere at various stations, including the High-Quality Workbench or different Assembly Lines. The Meowmere boasts a powerful attack damage of 200, impressive durability of 2222, and it can launch cat-shaped projectiles that emit meowing sounds, echoing the mechanics from Terraria. Despite its playful design, the Meowmere is a highly effective sword in Palworld.
