As you explore the various regions in Tainted Grail: The Fall Of Avalon, you’ll frequently encounter characters who need your assistance. They might ask you to defeat someone, retrieve an item, or conduct an investigation.
Not every quest will be obvious, though. You might come across a fascinating character, only to discover that they require your help after engaging in conversation. A good example of this is the “Forging a Path” quest, where you find a soldier in distress and initially can’t tell how to assist him.
How to Start the “Forging a Path” Quest
Once you arrive in Cuanacht, head to the main city hospital, located to the north, and go inside. You’ll find several patients, but the key person to speak to is a Kamelot Scout on the left side.
When you talk to him, he may seem agitated or traumatized, making dialogue difficult. Instead, approach the hospital owner, Ailei, to gather more information about the scout’s situation.
Unfortunately, she won’t know the exact details of what happened, but she will suggest that you speak to Denholm to gain more insight. This interaction kicks off the “Forging a Path” quest.
How to Complete the “Forging a Path” Quest
Denholm is located just west of the hospital at his usual spot. Approach him, and he will reveal that the scout likely encountered the Wyrdness during his mission and is now somewhat disoriented, leaving you with little to do directly for him.
What troubles Denholm more is that the scout left his task unfinished, and he asks you to complete it. Your job is to head over to the Iron Gate to make sure it’s secured.
Make your way there, and you won’t need to battle any enemies along the path; simply reach the Iron Gate.
Upon arriving at the Iron Gate, you’ll meet the Gatekeeper. Talk to him to confirm that the route is safe. He will inform you that while all seems clear, the Iron Gate itself is obstructed by rocks, preventing further progress. At this point, you can return to Denholm to report your findings.
Once you report back to Denholm in Cuanacht, the quest will be marked as complete.
