The most recent event for Destiny 2 introduces a new title: Heavy Metal. Similar to previous event titles, you can earn and gild this title by completing specific in-game Triumphs associated with the event activity. For this Heavy Metal event, you’ll need to participate in the game mode named after it and earn rewards from the associated reward track.
After you unlock the title, you can gild it by finishing four additional Triumphs. Most of these tasks are straightforward if you stay patient. This guide outlines how to complete each Triumph.
Usurper
Defeat the enemy team’s leader 20 times.
The player with the highest score on either team is marked as the leader, indicated by a golden glow around their vehicle. To complete this challenge, you must defeat the enemy team’s top scorer 20 times. Your kills count throughout the entire event after obtaining the Heavy Metal title, so you don’t have to accomplish this in a single match.
Atop The Throne
Become a leader 10 times.
To complete this Triumph, you need to achieve the top position on your team’s scoreboard 10 times. This task is relatively easy if you play strategically. Stick close to your teammates to outmaneuver the enemy team. Collect any tokens you find to boost your score.
Valuable Legacy
Collect 20 leaders’ coins.
This task is straightforward. Defeat the enemy team’s leader 20 times and collect their token each time. Make sure to be close to the leader when you take them down to grab the token quickly. Using your dodge ability can help you close the gap after you secure the kill.
Salvo Sender
Defeat 25 targets using your secondary weapon.
Each vehicle is equipped with a secondary weapon that inflicts a lot of damage but has a long cooldown. For this challenge, you must achieve 25 kills with your secondary weapon. This is fairly easy if you use it on targets that are already low on health. Make sure to get close to your targets for maximum impact.
