After finishing the ‘Sea of Blood’ quest, when you return to the Lighthouse, you’ll find everyone discussing the demon within Lucanis. The demon, Spire, will want to have a conversation with you, and Lucanis will begin to bleed from his nose.
Lucanis: “Just… give me a moment. He’ll get bored once everyone leaves.”

Once you finish the ‘Sea of Blood’ quest, you have a limited time to talk to Lucanis. Go to the Lighthouse where he can be found behind a door. After your discussion, he will bring up Spite.
Lucanis: “We both did what we had to do to get out there.”

In the ‘Coffee with the Crows’ companion quest, after sitting with Illario and Lucanis at the café, he will ask you what you think of the coffee. Your choice won’t matter much, but Lucanis will remember which drink you picked later on.
Illario: “The Crows I sent after Zara have picked up her trail. They say she’s gone to Vyrantium.”
I’m not convinced.

After the previous dialogue, once Illario leaves the table, Lucanis will take a sip of his coffee.

After the ‘Coffee with the Crows’ quest, once you’ve developed a bond with Lucanis, he will discuss Caterina’s funeral and invite you to join him in case Spite appears. You will then receive the ‘Bidding Farewell’ companion quest from him.
After speaking to Lucanis at Cantori Diamond in Treviso, you’ll have an exchange with Teia, and Illario will state he won’t go to the funeral:
Illario: “I’m sorry, Teia. This is just… too intense for me right now.”

At the conclusion of the ‘Shadows of Minrathous’ quest, you’ll report your findings from the warehouse to Viper. If Lucanis is with you, you can select the right dialogue to earn his approval.

During the ‘Bloodbath’ companion quest, you will encounter Illario on the rooftop, and he will want to accompany you.

When you speak to Spite, the choice you make isn’t crucial, but once Lucanis regains control, you can express your romantic feelings for him. If this option is selected, you can still flirt with other characters since there is no commitment yet:

After Lucanis’s discussion with Emmrich, if you talk to him again in his room, he will mention that he is heading to meet with the other Crows, and you’ll receive the ‘Inner Demons’ companion quest from him.
You can begin this quest by chatting with Lucanis in Dock Town. At the start of the quest, you will talk to Teia.

In the ‘Inner Demons’ quest, with Spite, you will enter Lucanis’s inner world and collect information from various spirits. Eventually, you will find Lucanis again, and at this point, you can flirt with him:

This moment marks the point of no return; in this dialogue, you can initiate an exclusive romance with Lucanis. After this, you won’t have the option to flirt with anyone else, and Lucanis will become your partner.
Lucanis: “They won’t mind.”
