As you progress through the Fighters Guild questline, you’ll receive a contract from Biene Amelion, who lives in Water’s Edge, located just north of Leyawiin. Biene’s family is deep in debt, and she needs a mercenary’s help to recover something valuable from her ancestral tomb.
This quest offers two paths: it can either be one of the quickest in the game or lead you to acquire a unique piece of armor.
How to Begin Amelion’s Debt
To kick off this quest, head to the Fighters Guild hall in Cheydinhal and speak with Burz gro-Khash. He will relay that Biene Amelion requires assistance with a significant debt and will provide you directions to her location. You can find her in Water’s Edge, a quaint homestead next to the lower Niben.
Upon meeting Biene, she’ll share her family’s troubling situation: they owe 1,000 septims. She asks you to go to her ancestral tomb and retrieve a set of armor that she plans to sell to repay the debt.
If you have the means, you can completely bypass entering the Amelion ancestral tomb. Pay Biene’s debt directly and fulfill the contract without exploring the tomb. If you choose this route, the armor will still be available to you after completing the contract.
How to Locate Brusef Amelion’s Armor
You’ll find the armor inside the crypts of Amelion Tomb, located just outside Leyawiin, as Biene instructed. Prepare for a confrontation with several undead creatures, so it’s wise to bring scrolls to turn undead and some silver or enchanted weapons.
While the tomb is compact, it is heavily populated with skeletons and other undead foes. Exploring the chests and coffins will yield valuable loot and potentially some unique items.
To fulfill the quest, only the cuirass and sword are essential if you plan on returning the armor. However, you can find additional pieces of Brusef Amelion’s Armor scattered throughout the cave’s first level. If you want the complete set, make sure to collect all items.
When you reach the Sarcophagus Chamber, the cuirass and sword rest atop a coffin in the center of the room. A level-appropriate undead boss will spawn here, so proceed with caution. If you’re quick, you might grab the cuirass and sword before the boss reacts.
Once you have the cuirass and sword, it’s time to return to Biene.
How to Complete Amelion’s Debt
Upon your return to Water’s Edge, you’ll have a final chance to decide whether to keep Biene’s family armor or to repay her debt. The armor has its own unique aesthetic, making it appealing for collectors. If you opt to return the armor, Biene will express her gratitude, and the piece will be removed from your inventory. The same applies if you choose to pay off the debt, in which case the gold will be deducted instead of the armor.
After your last meeting with Biene, turn the contract in to Burz gro-Khash in Cheydinhal. He’ll commend you for your efforts, regardless of how you completed the quest, and provide your payment. This marks the end of a brief yet engaging quest with various ways to finish it.
