Understanding Phase 3 in Satisfactory
As you dive into Phase 3 of Satisfactory, the workload increases significantly. This is the stage where commitment and efficiency will help Ficsit Pioneers deliver the necessary resources. Phase 3 grants access to Tiers 5 and 6, significantly enhancing your factory’s expansion capabilities.
Tier 6 is particularly thrilling because it introduces trains, enabling you to broaden your factory’s reach more than ever. Plus, operating the trains adds an element of fun! This section will break down all the Tier 6 milestones, their requirements, and some helpful strategies.
Tier 6 Milestones
In Tier 6, there are five distinct milestones. Most of these focus on alternatives rather than core requirements needed to advance in the phase. However, accessing and utilizing these tools will definitely aid in your factory’s development.
Industrial Manufacturing
Materials Needed:
- 200 Motors
- 200 Modular Frames
- 400 Plastic
- 1,000 Cables
Rewards:
- Manufacturer
- Computers
- Heavy Modular Frames
- Modular Engines
- Adaptive Control Units
The Industrial Manufacturing milestone is a pivotal requirement in this tier. It opens up multiple crucial components for future projects. The Manufacturer is a complex machine that can combine three or four different items into new components.
Using a Manufacturer can be a bit tricky, as you need to supply it with multiple resources simultaneously. Some players opt to produce basic components at separate facilities and then transport them to a central Manufacturer. This can be done efficiently using trains.
Additionally, this milestone unlocks the Modular Engine and Adaptive Control Unit, both essential for the next steps in Phase 3 of the Space Elevator.
Monorail Train Technology
Materials Needed:
- 250 Motors
- 500 Encased Industrial Beams
- 1,000 Steel Beams
- 1,000 Steel Pipes
Rewards:
- Electric Locomotive
- Freight Car
- Railways
- Train Station
- Freight Platforms
- Fluid Freight Platforms
- Empty Platforms
Unlocking Monorail Train Technology allows you to construct trains and train stations to transport materials across your map. Setting up railways may require significant planning, but once your network is established, trains require minimal upkeep.
Think of trains as speedy, larger conveyor belts—an ideal solution for transporting items across long distances, essential for efficient factory management.
Railway Signalling
Materials Needed:
- 50 Computers
- 400 Steel Pipes
- 1,000 Copper Sheets
Rewards:
- Block Signal
- Path Signal
The Railway Signalling milestone introduces signals that manage train traffic. Block Signals create designated zones that prevent multiple trains from entering at the same time, while Path Signals help regulate the overall flow, avoiding collisions and improving efficiency.
Pipeline Engineering Mk.2
Materials Needed:
- 50 Heavy Modular Frames
- 1,000 Plastic
- 1,000 Rubber
Rewards:
- Pipeline Mk.2
- Pipeline Pump Mk.2
The second level of Pipeline Engineering enhances your pipe systems, allowing for quicker transport of liquids. While this milestone might not be the most thrilling, it helps improve existing setups and lays the groundwork for future advancements.
FICSIT Blueprints Mk.2
Materials Needed:
- 100 Heavy Modular Frames
- 100 Computers
- 400 Rubber
- 1,500 Concrete
Rewards:
- Blueprint Designer Mk.2
The final milestone is the FICSIT Blueprints Mk.2, unlocking an advanced blueprint designer that accommodates larger designs, which can be useful as you create complex factories utilizing new machines.
Goals and Tips for Tier 6
Your primary goal in Tier 6 is to complete the Industrial Manufacturing Milestone, as doing so will grant access to two of the three necessary components for completing Phase 3.
This milestone is your launching point for experimenting with Manufacturers, which play a vital role in producing various items requiring multiple materials.
It’s highly recommended to unlock trains soon after achieving this milestone. Building your first railway will show you how beneficial trains can be, as they’ll drastically reduce travel time for both you and your resources.
Pro Tip
You can hold off on implementing Railway Signalling until you’re comfortable with train operations. While vital when managing multiple trains, early on, you can focus on setting your system up without it.
Consider upgrading to Pipeline Mk.2 when your production demands increase. The Mk.2 Blueprint Designer can be unlocked at your discretion, providing added convenience for future factory layouts, though it’s not critical to tier progression.
Overall, your mission in this tier is to establish Manufacturers and begin generating all components necessary for the Space Elevator’s third phase. As you expand, remember to leave room for future growth, as things only get more complex from here.
