Coda Weapon Tier List - Completing Warframe's Best Choices

Technocyte Coda represents the third tier of Liches you can farm in Warframe. These Infested Liches come with exclusive Requiem mods and rewards, notably the Coda series of weaponry. These are enhanced versions of previously available Infested weapons, featuring significantly improved base stats.

While these weapons may not match the power of Incarnons or other top-tier choices, the Coda arsenal offers some excellent options if you’re diving into endgame content or just want to diversify your loadout. In this article, we’ll be ranking every Coda weapon in Warframe from worst to best. Before we dive into the rankings, let’s clarify our criteria for tiering these weapons.

Weapon Ranking Methodology

This tier list ranks Coda weapons based on their effectiveness in high-level Steel Path content, typically around level 300 or higher. The most challenging content in Warframe, including Elite and Temporal Archimedia, operates at this difficulty. We’ve also considered utility, augmentations, and unique build mechanics for each weapon in our rankings.

  • S Tier: Outstanding picks that compete with Incarnons and other top options.
  • A Tier: Strong options needing some investment or augmentation to truly shine.
  • B Tier: Solid weapons that can excel in endgame content with significant investment.
  • C Tier: Average weapons that are generally overshadowed by similar options within their Mastery Rank range.

As is the case with most weapons in Warframe, you can optimize any Coda weapon for all types of content with the right build and support from your Warframe, Focus School, and additional factors. Higher-tier weapons are often easier to make powerful or require less dependence on other aspects of your setup.

Overview of the Tier List

In this tier ranking, we categorize the Coda weapons based on their performance in challenging Steel Path scenarios.

S Tier Weapons

Weapon

Type

Reasoning

Coda Pathocyst Infested Glaive The strongest glaive available, featuring innate Viral damage and the ability to spawn maggots on hit.
Coda Bassocyst Projectile Shotgun Functions like an Infested Arca Plasmor, with various damage types and the ability to debuff targets.
Coda Mire Infested Sword The best sword available, excels with slam attack builds that inflict guaranteed Toxin status.

These S-tier weapons are incredibly powerful and can compete with Warframe’s top options. The Coda Pathocyst has outperformed the Glaive Prime as the top glaive, featuring innate Viral properties and great damage potential when modded correctly. The Coda Bassocyst serves as an Infested counterpart to the Arca Plasmor, delivering high base damage while gaining significant damage from multipliers. Lastly, the Coda Mire stands out as the top sword, offering guaranteed toxin status with every slam attack, capable of taking down Steel Path enemies effectively.

A Tier Weapons

Weapon

Type

Reasoning

Coda Synapse Beam Rifle Strong single-target damage with good critical stats, excellent when modded for crit damage.
Coda Catabolyst Secondary Pistol Reloading throws an area of explosive projectiles, useful for area damage.
Coda Sporothrix Infested Sniper Detonates shots after a delay, particularly useful with the right augment.
Coda Caustacyst Scythe Charged attacks unleash a toxic pool that opens enemies to finishers.

Kicking off the A-tier is the Coda Synapse, a beam rifle designed for critical hits and high output when modded effectively. On the other hand, the Coda Catabolyst focuses on area control with explosive projectiles upon reloading. It’s a powerhouse for taking out clusters of enemies. Lastly, the Coda Sporothrix shines with AoE capabilities, especially with the proper augment, making it a versatile sniper option. The Coda Caustacyst rounds out the tier as an effective melee option that benefits from heaviness and toxic status.

B Tier Weapons

Weapon

Type

Reasoning

Coda Tysis Secondary Pistol Fires explosive Corrosive needles, strong for single-target damage.
Dual Coda Toxica Akimbo Pistols Deals extra damage to Cold-debuffed enemies, solid for burst attacks.
Coda Motorvore Hammer Unique damage buff mechanics enhance physical damage builds.
Coda Hirudo Sparring Melee Critical hits restore health, maintaining viability in battles.

B-tier weapons hold their ground with strong performance but require investment to compete with higher-tier options. The Coda Tysis, while powerful, excels mainly as a singular damage dealer and lacks in crowd control. The Dual Coda Toxica share traits common among Warframe’s secondary pistols, performing well against Cold-debuffed targets. The Coda Motorvore embodies unique mechanics to enhance physical damage builds, and while the Coda Hirudo provides crucial lifesteal capabilities, it struggles against the competition in higher tiers.

C Tier Weapons

Weapon

Type

Reasoning

Coda Pox Secondary Projectiles Serves as a decent status primer, overshadowed by more powerful options.
Coda Hema Burst Rifle Average damage output makes it less competitive for its Mastery Rank.

While neither the Coda Pox nor the Coda Hema are bad choices, they fail to measure up against the other Coda weapons. The Coda Pox primarily focuses on creating gas clouds for status priming, yet competes poorly with other options like the Cedo or Zakti. The Coda Hema, while not terrible, suffers from mediocre damage for its Mastery Rank and quickly falls behind once players access stronger Lich options.
