Sometimes, a player’s favorite aspect of a game is the decorating. Mirthwood has plenty to offer in that area. Take a moment to step back from battling bandits or enchanting townsfolk. With decorative furniture and artwork, your farm can become a more inviting space. You even have the option to add a second story to your home!
Players can either buy or find decorative items to use in their homes. Paintings are fantastic for enhancing bare walls. Just remember, you’ll need to repair your interior to hang paintings, and some are easier to track down than others. Here’s how you can find the Family Heirloom painting.
Where to Locate the Family Heirloom
The Family Heirloom is a unique and rare painting that may lead to being softlocked early in the game. You can only retrieve it during the prologue before the main story of Mirthwood begins. If you miss it during the introduction, it won’t be available in your playthrough afterward.
While you’re playing through the introductory scene where you prepare dinner, hang tight until the town is aflame. After awakening in the fields, head right back to your house, which will be directly to your right. Once inside your burning home, look for the Family Heirloom on the floor on top of the table. Don’t forget to check for a lootable chest by the bed, which contains a Simple Black Cote and a Health Elixir.
Tip: Players cannot sell paintings. When in your inventory, decorative items can be found in your selection wheel, next to your health potions. Choose the painting from there to place it in your house during Build Mode.
