Turkish singer Rıza Tamer, known for hits such as “Benden Sonra,” “Benim Yerime,” “Yan,” and “Adam Olmaz,” died on April 17 at the age of 42, according to Hurriyet.
Reports from Turkey indicate that he was hospitalized after feeling unwell at his home in Bodrum. Despite efforts to save him, his life could not be saved.
Preliminary investigations suggest that his condition deteriorated after taking prescribed medications. Authorities have launched an inquiry due to the suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. A post-mortem examination will determine the precise cause.

The public prosecutor has opened an investigation into the suspicious aspects of Rıza Tamer’s passing. His body was transported to the Muğla Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy to establish the cause of death.

Rıza Tamer gained national recognition when he finished third in the second season of Popstar Turkey in 2004, memorable for his interactions with jury member Deniz Seki. After the competition, he continued his music career. However, about three years ago, following an emotional crisis and divorce, he re-emerged into the public eye performing songs while sitting on the pavement in Antalya’s Kaleiçi district.
His heartfelt song “Benden Sonra” (“After Me”) achieved widespread popularity, streaming millions of times on digital platforms. Through his lyrics, he shared his personal journey, saying, “I had given up, but after my divorce three years ago, I threw myself into performing on the streets due to heartbreak.”
