Digital Phablet – Kuwaiti actress Hayat Al-Fahad has died at the age of 78, as announced on her official page this Tuesday.
According to those close to her, Hayat Al-Fahad passed away following a prolonged battle with illness.
Her official statement read, “To God we belong, and to Him we shall return. With hearts filled with faith in God’s will and decree, we mourn the loss of esteemed artist Hayat Al-Fahad, who departed this life after fighting illness, leaving behind a legacy rich in artistic and humanitarian contributions.”
She was a prominent figure in Gulf drama, with a lasting impact that will continue to be remembered by many generations. We pray for God’s mercy to be upon her, to grant her a place in Paradise, and to give her family and loved ones strength and patience during this difficult time.
Yesterday, the actress was moved to intensive care following a sudden decline in her health that necessitated urgent medical attention.
The Kuwaiti Union for Artistic and Theatrical Production issued an official statement revealing that Hayat Al-Fahad, often called the “First Lady of Gulf Cinema,” was swiftly transferred to the ICU after an emergency condition required immediate intervention.

Born on April 18, 1948, in Kuwait, Hayat Al-Fahad launched her career in the 1960s through Kuwait’s theatrical scene before transitioning to television. It was there she quickly established herself as a leading star in Gulf drama.
Her early noted TV series include Al-Darb Al-Tawil and Ruqayya wa Sabeeka, with later successes like Jarh Al-Zaman. Over her career, she took on roles that often addressed social issues, earning her a reputation as one of the most influential actresses across the Arab world.
