Kim Kardashian’s shapewear brand “SKIMS” has recently found itself in a scandal involving drug smuggling, according to the UK’s National Crime Agency. Authorities discovered that one of their trucks was loaded with approximately $8.4 million worth of cocaine.
The driver, a Polish national, was detained on September 9, 2025, after authorities intercepted the vehicle at the Port of Harwich in Essex, UK. He received a 13-year prison sentence for attempting to smuggle narcotics.
During the investigation, officials found 90 packages of cocaine, each weighing around 1 kilogram, concealed within the rear doors of the truck. The discovery was facilitated by X-ray imaging, which revealed anomalies in the vehicle’s structure. Additionally, the driver made a 16-minute stop during his journey, an event he could not explain during questioning.
In response, SKIMS issued a statement categorically denying any involvement or knowledge of the incident: “SKIMS is aware of recent reports concerning a shipment carrying our products. We want to emphasize that we had no knowledge of this criminal activity. We are not connected to the smuggling operation, the driver, or the vehicle,” a company spokesperson clarified to news outlets.
Though the situation has sparked concerns regarding SKIMS’s potential involvement, the brand has sought to distance itself from the controversy with their swift response. The investigation is ongoing, focusing not only on the driver but also investigating broader drug trafficking connections.
