A lot of Adsense users have been prompted by a message that asks for additional tax information from adsense users.
The message that people are getting;
Important: Check if additional tax information is required from you. All YouTube creators and partners are required to submit tax information to ensure any applicable taxes on your payments are accurate.
We did some run around and finally found a solution for this. But first see what is it is why is it needed?
What Is It?
Google is now collecting Tax from you. But to do that, Google would want your tax information and they’re collecting it through users AdSense accounts.
Solution
All the users, if you’re using AdSense on your blog or on your YouTube channel, you should fill out the U.S. tax information form.
Here is how you can submit it;
1. Login to your AdSense
2. Click Payment
3. Click Manage settings
4. Go to Payments Profile
5. Click Edit (pen icon) right next to ‘United States tax info‘
6. Click Manage tax information and then click Add Tax Info
7. Fill our the basic Info
Account Type:
- Individual: Tick this if you’re the only one using AdSense for your blog or YouTube.
- Non-Individual/Entity: Tick this if you own a registered office for the YouTube or Website you’re running.
Citizenship:
- Tick YES if you live in the United States or have a registered business in the US.
- Tick NO if you are not living in the United States or have no registered business in the US.
AdSense Form type for tax information
- W-8BEN: If you’re an individual running AdSense but not in the US.
- W-8ECI: If you’re a Business running AdSense, but not in the US.
- W9: If you’re a US citizen running AdSense in the US.
- 8233 / W4: If you’re running AdSense and doing business in the US.
- W-8IMY: If you’re a middle man who does business with the US.
8. Fill the Final Legal Form
Make sure you fill the form correctly without making any mistakes and adding only legal and correct information. We didn’t put screenshots here because it is a sensitive information.
9. DONE!
Once you’re done, you will start seeing “Approved” sign in your tax information.
