As October begins, smartphone manufacturers are gearing up for the launch of their flagship products. Among them is the highly anticipated iQOO 13, which made its debut today at the 2024 vivo Developer Conference. This new phone is set to be one of the first devices equipped with the latest OriginOS 5 system, promising to be the “king of smooth performance.” Notably, images of the iQOO 13’s front display were revealed, showcasing it as the world’s first device to feature BOE’s new Q10 luminescent material, potentially setting a new benchmark for displays in 2024.

According to vivo officials, the new OriginOS 5 includes significant optimizations at the system’s core, enhancing its smoothness to unprecedented levels. Addressing concerns about Android devices slowing down over time, OriginOS 5 introduces an innovative “memory log mechanism,” which optimizes memory allocation and aims to provide a consistently smooth user experience for up to 60 months.

In addition to system upgrades, OriginOS 5 has improved visual effects by optimizing and reworking animations in key scenarios. Coupled with enhanced global gesture controls, the system is designed to respond quickly and seamlessly to user interactions, even in complex, high-frequency settings.

The previous version, OriginOS 4, received high praise from users, and the multiple innovations in OriginOS 5 are expected to impart an even smoother experience to the iQOO 13, solidifying its position as the top contender for this year’s flagship performance award.

Beyond software enhancements, the iQOO 13 boasts the global debut of BOE’s latest Q10 luminescent material, which offers breakthroughs in brightness, color accuracy, power consumption, and longevity, signaling a new peak for China’s display industry. In collaboration with BOE, iQOO has developed a “clearer, more eye-friendly, and smoother” 2K display as part of this initiative.

An iQOO product manager revealed that the high-end 2K flat screen is the first result of an internal project referred to as the “Everest Project,” hinting at ongoing improvements in display technology.

Renowned for its focus on robust performance and exceptional gaming experiences, iQOO consistently demonstrates its leadership in cutting-edge technology with each new release. The iQOO 13 is slated for release later this month and is expected to be among the first smartphones to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile processor, promising to lead the high-end performance segment in 2024 with its superior specs and user experience.
