Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi, has unveiled a series of stunning images showcasing the upcoming Xiaomi 15 Ultra smartphone. A total of six photos shared on X by Jun, coupled with one from the official Xiaomi account, highlight the device’s camera-inspired aesthetic, which aligns with previous leaks.

In collaboration with Leica, Xiaomi has integrated expertise in camera technology into this new device. While the two brands have historically worked on hardware and software without explicitly borrowing from Leica’s design elements, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra marks a departure from that trend. Its design truly shines when the phone is positioned in landscape mode, featuring a textured black lower two-thirds and a sleek metallic or glass finish on the upper third.
The aesthetics evoke a classic Leica design language, a noteworthy upgrade from the more conventional look of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The back features an expansive glass-covered camera arrangement, encircled by a polished metal bezel, creating a combination that is both simple and striking, reminiscent yet contemporary. Acknowledging diverse consumer preferences, Jun also showcased two more understated versions of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra: one entirely black and another in white, with the latter showcasing an intriguing brushed texture that may suggest a ceramic material rather than traditional glass.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is set to make its debut at the forthcoming event during Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on March 2. Xiaomi has hinted at exciting announcements for the occasion, including a new version of their SU7 electric car, aptly named the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, which was previewed using the Xiaomi 15 Ultra smartphone.
We previously dubbed the Xiaomi 14 Ultra as our top camera phone for 2024, and the anticipation for the Xiaomi 15 Ultra—one of our most awaited phones for 2025—has only intensified with this new design reveal. Stay tuned for all the latest updates from the launch event on March 2.
