WhatsApp is working on a built-in “Scheduled Messages” feature that lets users set a specific date and time for messages to send automatically within chats. This capability has been detected in the latest iOS beta version 26.7.10.72, shared through Apple’s TestFlight, according to WABetaInfo.
Once this feature launches, users will be able to craft a message, choose the desired send time, and have the app deliver it automatically at the scheduled moment—without any additional steps. Pending scheduled messages will stay queued and appear in a separate section within the chat info screen.
From there, users can view, manage, or cancel messages before they’re sent. Notably, deleting a scheduled message won’t notify the recipient, as the message is removed before delivery. This feature is expected to work in both one-on-one and group chats, making it easy to plan birthday greetings, reminders, announcements, or work updates in advance.
While iPhone users can currently emulate similar functionality with Apple’s Shortcuts app, this new native option aims to streamline the process directly within WhatsApp. Although businesses already have access to scheduled messages via paid Business Broadcast features, this update will be available to all users at no extra cost.
The development is still underway, with a probable release to beta testers ahead of a broader rollout to the public.
